What a beautiful little piece of vintage English silverplate!
This charming caviar server features a gorgeous hammered dome, a beautifully detailed decorative rim, and three elegant legs ending in little claw feet.
One of my favorite features is the revolving dome. A small round knob allows the lid to roll back, revealing the serving bowl beneath. It’s such a lovely way to present caviar, butter, or other special little accompaniments at the table.
The contrast between the hammered upper dome and the smooth, reflective silverplate gives this piece wonderful character. And the delicate detailing around the rim and feet makes it especially pretty.
These traditional revolving servers were often made with removable clear pressed-glass inserts. The original insert is missing from this piece, but a separate plain white porcelain replacement bowl is included.
Marked “SILVER PLATED – MADE IN ENGLAND” on the underside.
A beautiful addition to a vintage silver collection, an elegant table setting, or a special occasion. It’s also a lovely decorative piece when not in use.
