A beautiful German porcelain serving bowl by Hutschenreuther, decorated in the iconic Blue Onion (Blau Zwiebelmuster) pattern.
The softly squared form is finished with an undulating scalloped rim and classic cobalt-blue botanical decoration against crisp white porcelain. Inside, the traditional Blue Onion motifs wrap around the border and frame a detailed floral composition at the center, while delicate blue ornamentation continues along the exterior.
Produced by Hutschenreuther of Hohenberg, Bavaria, this is a particularly lovely serving piece for a collected blue-and-white table. Its sculptural shape also makes it beautiful displayed on open shelving, a hutch or sideboard.
Use it as a fruit bowl, serving bowl, centerpiece, or simply as decorative porcelain.
Condition: Good vintage/pre-owned condition with light signs of previous use. There is a small chip to the underside foot rim, shown clearly in the photographs. The chip is on the base and is not prominent when the bowl is displayed upright. No other chips or cracks observed. Please review all photographs, as they form part of the condition description.
